Novemeber 2012 - Final Project Meeting in Germany

Presentation of the project results On the 28th of November the Tourism Council Ruppiner Lakes and the DAA invited all project partners and the regional political authorities of Brandenburg to the Final project meeting in Rheinsberg! On this meeting the project study and the curriculum have been presented to the representative for people with disabilities of the Federal state of Brandenburg, to the representatives of the counties Oberhavel and Ostprignitz Ruppin and to the touristic partners of the Tourism Council Ruppiner Lakes.

July 2012 - Study Visit in Poland

Meeting in Poland with Mr Andzej Gózdz From the 10th till the 13th of May the Bialskopodlaska Local Action Group welcomed Tourism Council Ruppiner Lakes and DAA to the region BiaBa Podlaska in Poland! The partners witnessed the positive developments in polish tourism industry and the engagement of the local authorities and entrepreneurs to make tourism accessible for all. Best practice examples like the tandem race for people with and without visual impairment, the therapeutic horse riding, or the barrierefree offices have been introduced.

May 2012 - Study Visit in Germany

On the Rolly Tours boat nearby Castle Rheinsberg From the 21st till the 23rd of May the Tourism Council Ruppiner Lakes welcomed all project partners in wonderful Brandenburg! The partners recieved an in-depth look into the development of the barrierfree tourism in Brandenburg and in the destination Ruppiner Lakes. Additionally the regional best practice examples in barrierfree tourism have also been introduced: Hof Grüneberg, Naturparkhaus Stechlin, Rolly Tours, Landhaus Seebeck and Haus Rheinsberg - Hotel am See and more.

March 2012 - Study Visit in France

barrierfree boat in Terra Botanica, Angers, France Institut Montéclair welcomed Tourism Council Ruppiner Lakes and DAA to Angers! During the 2 days in Angers (27th to 28th of March 2012) Marguerite Rolland, Nathalie Louis and Philippe Belseur introduced the developments concerning barrierfree tourism in France in general and in Angers in particular. Most interesting has been the projects in Angers making the city accessible to all! Best practice examples like Terra Botanica, Château of Nantes, Office of Tourism in Angers and Hotel l’Océane were presented during the study visit.

March 2012 - ITB 2012 in Berlin

Mrs Dr. Carmen Hildebrandt of the "Consortium Barrierfree Destinations in Germany" presenting the project BarrTour For the first time in the history of the International Tourism Board (ITB) all the workshops and events concerning barrierfree tourism were connected into one single event: "The Day of Barrierfree Tourism". Within this event the Project BarrTour has also been introduced to participants and the press.

February 2012 - Study Visit in Italy

Teatro del Sale, in the kitchen, Florenz, Italy IRIFOR welcomed Tourism Council Ruppiner Lakes and DAA to Florence! Antonio Quatraro and Lisa Bucciolini introduced many ways of making art and culture accessible to all. Even in the city of Florence, where so many historic buildings, sites and monuments are being protected, barrierfree tourism flourishes! Best practice examples like Palazzo Davanzati, Florence Tramway 1, Teatro del Sale, Fiesole Museum and the Museum center Florence have been visited.

December 2011 - Study Visit in Spain

Representatives of Ruppiner Lakes, DAA and Florida Florida Centre de Formació welcomed Tourism Council Ruppiner Lakes and DAA to Valencia! Arno de Waal and Inmaculada Mora Orti presented the general strategies and policies concerning accessible tourism at a national and a regional level. Important point - the city of Valencia has just been awarded with the Prize "Reina Sofia for universal accessibility of municipalities"! Best practice examples like Senior Travel Hotel in Mallorca, ARONA, the Village (completely accessible) and the Hotel "LA MOZAIRA" were included into the study visit.
